Ahisha Avant

Ahisha Avant has a diverse background and a passion for making a difference. Originally from the Southeastern United States, she has lived in various corners of the world, including California, Maryland, Japan, and Germany. It was in Monterey, California, during her service in the Air Force, where she met her husband and they’ve been happily married for 23 years and have three wonderful children. Since settling in Washington State in 2014, the Pacific Northwest has truly become the place that they can call home. Ahisha’s devotion to family extends beyond her household, and she is deeply involved in giving back to the community. As a board member of the Mercer Island Schools Foundation, she is committed to enhancing educational opportunities for local children. She is also an active member, alongside her youngest son, of the National League of Young Men, underscoring her dedication to nurturing the next generation. Ahisha has an MS in Human Resource Management from University of Maryland University College and an MA in Teaching from Western Governors University. While her professional journey has taken various paths, from technical writing and intelligence analysis to teaching, Ahisha now dedicates all of her time to family and philanthropic pursuits. Her ethos is driven by a desire to grow, connect, and leave a positive impact on the world around her.
