Dr. Karin Larson-Pollock

Karin grew up in the beautiful state of Montana. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from The University of Montana with a degree in Business Administration/Marketing and a minor in German, she served as a Small Business Advisor with the U.S. Peace Corps in Kenya. She returned to the U.S. for graduate studies – receiving a Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University Medical School, a Master of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and more recently, a Certificate in Business Analytics from Harvard University’s Business Analytics Program (graduating with Distinction). Karin has over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience and is passionate about optimizing analytics and process improvement to foster excellence across the care continuum. She proudly serves as Vice President & Chief Quality Officer of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, and prior to ‘The Hutch,’ Karin spent over a decade with Providence-Swedish, where she served multiple roles – including Chief Quality Officer of Providence-North Division (Western Washington & Alaska). Before moving to Seattle, she spent seven years at Houston Methodist, where she served as the Vice President of Operations. She is an alumnus of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Chief Quality Officer Forum, a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and has served in many leadership roles in ACHE – including previously serving as the elected Regent for Washington State and the national Board of Governors. Karin has a passion for supporting women and under-represented communities and has served on multiple boards and volunteered countless hours with her family to pursue that passion. Karin resides on Mercer Island with her wonderful husband and is the mother of two amazing college kids and one very spoiled rescue dog.
